About Nicole
A Spiritual Scientist
Nicole has dedicated her life to two passions: yoga and wildlife conservation. Fourteen years ago, Nicole walked into her first yoga class. What started as a quest for physical fitness evolved into a deep exploration of self-discovery through yoga's transformative power. It wasn't just a physical practice, it changed how she breathed, how she thought, and how she treated herself and others. Now, fueled by the profound impact of yoga on her life, Nicole is on a mission to ignite that same spark in others. She's here to inspire you to unlock your own potential, to dive deep into the practice, and discover the boundless love and joy it holds.
She received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Montanita, Ecuador in 2018 with a focus in Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Yin styles. She methodically combines yogic philosophy, movement, and meditation to create a theme for each class. She encourages her students to find their strength through power vinyasa flows and teaches gentle-style classes to allow individuals to slow down and acknowledge their way of thinking. Some of the themes she explores in her classes include the Chakras, the Earth’s elements, Zodiac signs, and Animal Embodiment flows.
In addition to her yoga practice, Nicole is also a wildlife biologist with a bachelor's degree in Natural Resources and the Environment and a master's degree in Wildlife Conservation. She has worked all over the country studying various ecosystems and animals. Her career began in 2016 building trails in New Hampshire with the Americorps, and since then, she has worked in the Everglades in south Florida to track deer, the Outer Banks to study little shorebirds, Kansas to work with the quirky Lesser Prairie Chicken, and coastal Oregon to study the elusive seabird, the Marbled Murrelet. Since 2020, she has been based in southern Rhode Island dedicating her research to Piping Plovers.
Nicole in Nature was created to inspire students to wake up the wild within through experiences with nature’s flora and fauna. With a degree in Wildlife Conservation, Nicole is happiest when she’s outside immersed in nature. She believes when you are outdoors mindfully taking in your surroundings, you can truly experience living in the present moment. As a yoga teacher, she wishes for you to experience this grounding feeling on your mat when you're flowing through poses, or seated in a meditation.
She believes we can learn a lot from the way animals live their lives in the natural world. Animals are perfectly adapted to live in their environment, and they stay focused on their immediate needs rather than getting caught up about the past or future. They know when to give themselves rest, to trust their instincts, and to only take what they need. She hopes this class will inspire you to become more observant of the natural world around you, and to look at animals in a more spiritual light.
